Public Places Program (AIPP) of New Mexico Arts announces the second
biannual New Mexico Only Purchase Initiative. New
Mexico artists at all stages in their careers
are invited to submit slides or digital images
of artwork available for purchase. Receipt
deadline for submissions is 5:00pm on Thursday,
August 31. The
goal of the New Mexico Only Purchase Initiative
is to continue to diversify the State’s Public Art Collection
by purchasing existing artwork from artists who are living
and working in New Mexico. Art will be purchased for
approximately 50 different public art sites. The
available amount for each site ranges from
$1,000.00 to $5,000.00

Description: The
City of Santa Fe Loaned Art Exhibit is
a wonderful opportunity for artists to
connect to the community and contribute
to the beauty of Santa Fe through the public
display of their artwork at locations throughout
the entire city. The Santa
Fe Arts Commission will be accepting proposals from galleries,
individuals, and artists to loan their
work. Upon acceptance, the pieces will
be installed in a variety of striking sites
across the city. Finally,
the exhibit honoring the 2006 lenders will
run throughout the year.

City of Santa Fe Arts
Commission,
in partnership with the City of Santa
Fe Engineering Division, is seeking an
artist/artist team to work as a member of the
design team for the Acequia
Trail Pedestrian Overpass. The
selected artist/artist team will work with
the engineering consultant to develop integral
art for the overpass and related structures. Total
compensation will be up to $50,000 inclusive
for design services. Travel expenses
up to $3,000 will be paid based on the
City of Santa Fe’s per diem and mileage
policy if the selected artist/artist
team resides more than 35 miles beyond
the Santa Fe City limits. The deadline
for submission of materials is Wednesday,
February 22, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. |
